Alkis Kalliakmanis is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Injuries, small and large joint arthroscopy, regenerative biological therapies and knee-hip arthroplasty. Mr. Kalliakmanis has focused his postgraduate training in Sports Medicine with the main scientific subject of diagnosis and prevention of sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle as well as total knee and hip arthroplasty. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He began and completed his specialization in Orthopaedics, at the 2nd University Orthopaedic Clinic of the Regional Hospital "Agia Olga" of Nea Ionia, (2002-2006) where, among other things, he specialized in knee and hip arthroplasty, in the surgical treatment of fractures, in chronic orthopedic diseases, while he also had his first training for 4 years in arthroscopic surgery and in the research arthroscopic approach to the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee under the direction and supervision of Professor Mr. G. Papachristou.
As part of his specialty, he specialized for an additional year in Pediatric Orthopedics at Agia Sophia Children's Hospital, while he also specialized in the Hand Limb Clinic at KAT Hospital for one semester.
He has been a scholar of the Ant. Papadakis Endowment (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) as well as of the Department of Sports Injuries of the Athens Medical Center under the Direction of Mr. P. Nikolaou, one of the leading Sports Physicians in Greece and Europe, from where he received additional specialized training in arthroscopic techniques and in the treatment of injuries in athletes.
Mr. Kalliakmanis has served as a member of Organizing Committees as well as a Speaker at Round Tables at Conferences on the topic of Sports Injuries, while he has been awarded 3 times for oral presentations and publications in Greece and abroad.
In 2011 he received an honorary distinction from the internationally renowned American scientific journal Journal of Arthroscopy for scientific work that was published and was among the 20 “most – cited" scientific articles worldwide and concerned meniscus suturing with simultaneous anterior cruciate ligamentoplasty.
He has publications in Scientific Journals abroad on topics mainly related to Sports Injuries and Arthroscopic Surgery, while he has more than 150 oral and published communications in Greece and abroad.
He has collaborated with the University of Patras on research and innovative technologies on issues of Sports Injuries.
